26 January 2011 (not that it really needs clarifying....)
Aussie day started of pretty quietly. Yan and Lawrie gave Silver a well deserved scrub and the girls just hung out in the morning. The boys decided that they needed to get into the spirit of things and started off with some Jenga and scotch.

Jane & Jim graciously offered to host the 2011 Aussie Day celebrations. This was great as their place is only a quick walk from Yan & Amanda's'. We tuned into Triple J's Hottest 100 and based on their suggestion we started up a swear jar for flood relief. We were pretty well behaved up until lunchtime, which was very tasty (Thanks Jane and Jim for cooking duties too).

When the weather had cooled down a bit we headed over to the park for some cricket. Lawrie was super impressed with Jim's double ball bowl and his double ball hit - even better when Yan dropped the catch.

After the park we headed down to the beach for a swim and to watch the sun go down over the Indian ocean (exciting for us - maybe not so for the Perth residents)

We had a brilliant day and were really sad at the thought of having to leave Perth and our friends the next day. Kitty is trying to convince Lawrie that moving to Perth is a good idea....
